About Ragdolls
Ragdoll cats are large, gentle pets known for their loving and friendly nature. They have soft, medium to long fur that needs only occasional grooming to stay healthy and shiny. These social cats enjoy spending time with people, greeting their owners warmly, and playing together. They reach full size and show their beautiful colors by age three or four. Adult males usually weigh 18 to 22 pounds, while females weigh 15 to 20 pounds. Ragdolls are calm, friendly, and easygoing, making them great for families and good with children and other pets. They come in many lovely colors, like seal, blue, chocolate, and cream, adding to their charm.
Temperament
Ragdolls are known for their calm, gentle, and floppy nature, traits they get from their Persian and Birman ancestors. This relaxed behavior often leads people to wrongly think they feel less pain, but actually, Ragdolls just have a very calm way of showing discomfort. Some UK breeders worry that their soft limpness might affect their health, this “floppiness” is still a special and loved feature of the breed.
Besides being loving and gentle, Ragdolls are smart and easy to handle. They like being held and often follow their owners like “dog-like cats,” showing playful curiosity and can even be taught to fetch. Their caring, friendly nature makes them perfect pets for families or people looking for a pet that is both calming and fun.
